SUPPORT TEAMS Prayer Team - Recieves and responds to regular prayer requests in support of Citizens for a Safe Community's activities. Letter Writing Team - Writes letters to people in positions of influence and leadership and to businesses. Expresses support and concern. Volunteer Office Team - Assists in the routine and special project office duties of Citizens for a Safe Community. Skill needs vary from data entry to envelope stuffing. Media, Church or Civic Group Speaker Team - Serves as a liason between Citizens for a Safe Community and the media, churches, and civic organizations of Rapid City. Educates the media, parishioners and members about the issues of pornography and sexually oriented businesses. Financial Support Team - Pledges to financially support Citizens for a Safe Community. throughout the year. Please pray about your place on this team, which will be so vital to our work. Citizens for a Safe Community is a project of the South Dakota Family Policy Council, a non-profit 501C3 organization and all contributions are tax deductable to the full extent of the law. TASK FORCES Hard Core Pornography and Crime Reduction Task Force - Performs various tasks to help pass constitutionally sound laws to restrivt sexually oriented businesses such as adult bookstores and strip bars that are responsible for increased crime, decreased property values, urban blight and personal suffering. Works to advide law enforcement officials of establishments that may be selling prosecutable pornography - pornography that violates state law. Soft-Core Pornography Task Force - Works to eliminate pornography that is not prosecutable. Such material, while not prosecutable, is destructive to neighbors and individuals sold in stores such as convenience stores or bookstores. Indecent Broadcasting, Cable and Satellite Task Force - Strives to make television and radio broadcasting family-friendly. Efforts are divided between holding accountable advertisers who support indecent broadcasting and working with elected officials to protect the public from pornography via cable and satellite.
